 Phase 1 - aged care facilities. Phase 2 - hotels, accomodation and service clubs. Phase 3 - general business Additional funding beyond the initial 3-year period will allow BTL to be extended to include many more businesses outside these sectors. It is envisaged that by at the end of the initial funding period the first three phases will have provided highly observable outcomes. These outcomes will be widely promoted in a variety of media, with the result that the BTL logo will become recognised in the region, making participation in future sustainability strategies more desirable by businesses. Longer term, regional branding will be introduced, where businesses in the region will be invited to participate in an accreditation process and advice, training and assessment will be provided and a star rating given. This “branding” will give a competitive advantage to local businesses operating sustainably. |
